Lyophilized Peptide Storage for Laboratory Use

Handling notes for freeze-dried research peptides in a lab setting — not reconstitution recipes for personal use.

Scope of this page

Most research peptides in our catalog ship as lyophilized (freeze-dried) powders in sealed vials. Labs already have SOPs for cold storage and reconstitution solvents. This article does not replace those SOPs, and it does not provide dosing, injection, or clinical handling instructions.

It covers receiving and storage themes buyers ask about when material is Research Use Only and destined for bench work only.

Unopened lyophilized vials

Keep vials in the labeled storage range your protocol or the product documentation specifies. Many lyophilized research peptides are held frozen (commonly around −20 °C) until reconstitution; some short-term holds at refrigerated temperatures appear on individual specs. When the COA or product page states a range, follow that lot’s paperwork over generic internet charts.

Minimize moisture and light. Leave stoppers seated. Avoid repeated warm–cold cycling of the same vial before you are ready to use it in the lab. Condensation inside a cold vial that was opened in humid air is a practical failure mode, not a theoretical one.

After reconstitution (lab protocols)

Once a powder is in solution, stability becomes highly compound- and solvent-dependent. Institutional protocols usually define aliquot size, sterile technique expectations, and freezer vs refrigerator holds for working solutions. Follow your lab’s written method.

We do not publish consumer-style “how to mix” guides. Solvent choice (including bacteriostatic water vs sterile water vs other research solvents) belongs in your protocol and SDS review — not in marketing copy.

Tie storage notes to lot documents

Record lot number, COA file name, date received, and storage location in your notebook or LIMS. If a later experiment fails a control, that trail matters more than a generic blog tip. Use the COA Library for batch PDFs and keep RUO labeling intact on secondary containers in the lab.
